When our parish priest – Fr. Lito and some of the youth showed their concern and desire on how we going to celebrate this great feast in honor of St. Hannibal Mary Di Francia, the community decided to have a Eucharistic Celebration in the Parish.
Despite of the rain, we, the sisters of Marikina community , the teachers of Padre Annibale School as well as those who are working with us, parents and children, and some of the parishioners came and wholeheartedly participated in the Eucharistic Celebration presided by the parish priest of the Nativity of our Lady Parish.
Towards the end of the celebration, it was announced that kissing of the relic of St. Hannibal which is engraved on the altar itself will immediately follow. And amazingly, I witnessed the “simplicity of faith” of the people who lined up and patiently waited for their turn to kiss the relic that even in the midst of modernization and with the new science and technology they still believe in the powerful intercession of the Saint.
The celebration was so simple yet meaningful. It does not only touch the heart of those who know already St. Hannibal but most especially those who do not know him and yet participated.
